According to the UN, the percentage of Indian artisans has eventually declined by 30%. In accessibility of funds, Absence of market intelligence and poor framework are the important reason for such decline, We are also aware of the % share of India in global stage in sports.
India is home to 7 million artisans and craftsmen who are the building blocks of the Handicrafts Industry. (Source: IBEF).
However, this represents the official figures. In unofficial findings, there are up to 200 million artisans who have been engaged in handicrafts for their livelihood. Support, Recognition, financial assistance and mentoring can add significant value to aspiring talent in arts, crafts and Sports.
